January 31 Open House about Upper Harbor Terminal and Upper River Park Projects

The community is invited to provide input about what would make redevelopment of the Upper Harbor Terminal (UHT) site equitable and how community engagement can be most effective. Information also will be available about several of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board’s (MPRB) Upper River projects and planning initiatives.

6:00 – 7:30 pm, open house

7:30 – 9:00 pm, Above the Falls Community Advisory

Where:   MPRB headquarters, 2117 W. River Road N.,

Nokomis Conference Room (first floor)

The open house from 6:00 to 7:30 pm will be informal and family-friendly and will give you an opportunity to provide input on what would make the UHT redevelopment equitable and how to structure community engagement during the upcoming planning process. You also will be able to learn more about other Park Board projects and planning initiatives in the Upper River, including the North Service Area Master Plan; 26th Ave. N. riverfront park and pier; Scherer Bros site; RecQuest; Great Northern Greenway and more.

At the subsequent monthly Above the Falls Community Advisory Committee meeting, you can join a continued discussion about equity, engagement and what’s happening in the Upper River area.

Meeting organizers wish to encourage participation by everyone. Staff members fluent in Somali and Spanish will be at the open house. Please request any other language as far in advance of the meeting as possible so that organizers can try to have an interpreter present.
